CISF is modernizing defenses with drone and cyber upgrades, expanding to 220,000 personnel, and enhancing security across India’s critical sites.
The Central Industrial Security Force is upgrading its defenses against drones and cyber threats, establishing a drone training center in Rajasthan and expanding cyber capabilities, including a cyber command center and zero-trust network, under its 2026–30 modernization plan.
With 220,000 personnel after a 10% strength increase, CISF protects 361 critical sites across India, including nuclear plants, airports, and power stations.
The force also provides security to over 156 protectees and manages fire services at 114 units.
In 2025, it saved eight lives and evacuated nearly 250 civilians during Operation Sindoor.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the CISF’s 57th Raising Day in Bhubaneswar, where he will inaugurate housing projects and lay foundations for three new battalions.
