Jonathon Fusi, 36, has pleaded guilty to causing a fatal 2024 crash on Cessnock Road in New South Wales that killed a 31-year-old man and injured his pregnant partner.
Fusi, who was unlicensed and tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, was driving a loaded Isuzu truck when it crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Nissan Patrol.
The man died at the scene; the woman sustained hand injuries.
Fusi, who lost a leg in the crash, remains on bail as a disputed facts hearing will determine if he knew his licence was suspended and used a fake digital licence.
Sentencing is set for April in Newcastle District Court.
