TikTok’s U.S. service crashed again due to a data center issue, its second major outage in a month.
TikTok’s U.S. service faced another outage Tuesday afternoon, disrupting users' ability to post content, with the issue traced to Oracle’s Ashburn, Virginia data center.
The disruption, beginning around 1 PM Eastern, followed a similar February outage also linked to a power failure at the same facility.
This marks the second major outage in a month for TikTok in the U.S., despite a January agreement transferring majority ownership of its U.S. operations to TikTok USDS, a joint venture including Oracle, amid ongoing data and national security concerns.
The exact cause of the latest outage remains unclear, but it highlights persistent technical challenges tied to the platform’s restructuring.
