A grooming van carrying eight dogs was stolen Tuesday morning from a Chicago pet salon, but all animals were safely recovered later that day in the Lakeview neighborhood.
The blue and black 2021 van, owned by Indiana’s Markay’s Castle of the Dogs, was taken as owner David Cox briefly left it running to retrieve items.
Surveillance showed the theft occurred in 20 seconds, and the van was found with altered plates in an alley.
A 46-year-old man was taken into custody, and all dogs—including a recently hospitalized husky—were unharmed and reunited with their owners.
