Starting June 26, 2026, visitors to Cape Breton Highlands National Park’s Skyline Trail must reserve a four-hour parking timeslot between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Parks Canada’s online or phone system, with bookings opening May 6 at 9 a.m. AT.
The change aims to reduce overcrowding, protect the fragile ecosystem, and improve safety and visitor experience.
Only those with confirmed reservations will be allowed entry, with fees of $13 online or $15 by phone, proceeds supporting trail maintenance.
The reservation system will run through October 25.
