Robert Waters, 49, to stand trial in April 2026 for a 2025 Anzac Day knife attack in Hillvue, NSW.
Robert Gregory Waters, 49, of Tamworth, has been ordered to stand trial for a knife attack on Anzac Day 2025 in Hillvue, allegedly wounding another man with intent to cause serious injury. Charged in July 2025, Waters pleaded not guilty and appeared via video link from custody in Tamworth Local Court. Magistrate Kirralee Perry committed him to trial on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and using a weapon to commit an indictable offence, with a backup charge of being armed with such intent. Self-defence may be raised at trial. No bail was applied for or granted, and Waters will remain in custody until his April 2026 trial mention at the NSW District Court in Sydney.
