Residents of Osun State protested IBEDC over severe power cuts and service downgrade, demanding reliable electricity and fair billing.

Residents of Osun State, including Òṣogbo, protested at the IBEDC office over prolonged power outages, demanding restoration of reliable electricity and reversal of their area’s downgrade from Band A to Band C, which reduced daily supply to as little as four hours. Protesters, mainly youths and business owners, cited economic losses, high generator costs, and unfair billing during outages. IBEDC acknowledged the issue, blaming national generation challenges and low metering rates, and pledged stakeholder engagement to improve service.
