Nic Brady has opened a larger Newy Fried Chicken location at 102 Darby Street in Newcastle, expanding after his original Broadmeadow spot closed for a Woolworths supermarket. The new 80- to 100-seat venue includes a bar, pool table, and streamlined menu with salads and fries included with all sandwiches. It will serve local beers, reintroduce the Bottomless Bird offering, and add desserts like cobblers. Brady plans monthly hospitality events for staff, focusing on career development, while maintaining the Broadmeadow site as a takeaway-only location. The business, which began in 2018 as Hotline Hoagies, now employs about 50 people and continues supporting local breweries and community initiatives.
