Ghana’s Parliament has referred Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to the Privileges Committee over allegations that he called the government’s 2025 security recruitment process a “scam,” claiming it imposed unfair financial burdens via a third-party online system.
The Interior Minister challenged the claims, prompting the First Deputy Speaker to refer the matter for investigation, which will examine whether Afenyo-Markin’s remarks breached parliamentary privilege.
The committee will hear from Afenyo-Markin and others, with a report to be submitted for parliamentary debate.
The government completed a mop-up aptitude test, and results are expected March 4, 2026.
