On February 28, 2026, cadets from North Bay’s 547 Canuck Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron took part in Exercise Chilly Hawk at Earlton-Timiskaming Regional Airport, engaging in drone operations and flight simulator training alongside peers from Northern Ontario.
The hands-on aviation activities, supported by Regional Cadet Support Unit (Central), aimed to enhance technical skills and enthusiasm for aviation among youth aged 12 to 18.
Cadets praised the practical application of simulator training and real-world drone flying, while the broader Air Cadet Program continues to promote leadership, citizenship, and career exploration in aviation through structured, safe experiences.
