A car crashed into Dorignac’s Food Center in Metairie, Louisiana, around 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, damaging the liquor section, destroying a wall, and toppling a beverage fridge.
No shoppers were injured, but the driver was hospitalized as a precaution and taken by ambulance.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed the cause is under investigation.
The store closed temporarily for repairs and plans to reopen within two days, according to owner Nicole Dorignac.
Cleanup crews were on site by 8 p.m.
