Canberra has launched Nicotine Knockout @ The Junction, the ACT’s first dedicated vaping cessation service for youth, offering free, evidence-based support to residents aged 24 and under.
The program, based at Anglicare’s The Junction Youth Health Service, provides up to 12 weeks of counselling, individualized quit plans, SMS check-ins, drop-in sessions, and free nicotine replacement therapy.
Funded by a $660,000 ACT government grant over three years, it was developed with input from young people and health experts.
The initiative aims to address rising nicotine use among youth, with national data showing many young Australians want to quit but lack support.
The service is now available across the ACT.
