A 17-year-old male has been charged with second-degree murder in the November 27, 2025, fatal shooting of 16-year-old Rhianna Cook in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
The suspect, arrested in Saskatoon on February 28 during a traffic stop, was previously taken into custody at the scene but released.
He appeared in Saskatoon provincial court and was remanded in custody ahead of a March 4, 2026, court appearance in Prince Albert.
Cook, a student at Wesmore Community High School, was shot at her family’s home and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit continues investigating, urging the public to contact authorities with any information.
