The Washington Commanders plan to release cornerback Marshon Lattimore, ending his brief stint after a 2024 trade and a 2025 ACL injury.
Marshon Lattimore, a cornerback who played 11 games after being traded from the New Orleans Saints in 2024, is expected to be released by the Washington Commanders, ending his 1.5-season tenure. In order to avoid dead cap space, Lattimore, a four-time Pro Bowler and 2017 Defensive Rookie of the Year, was scheduled to earn $18.5 million in 2026 after tearing his ACL in 2025. However, the salary was not guaranteed. In his eight-year career, the 30-year-old has started all 95 regular-season games and recorded 436 tackles, 16 interceptions, and 98 passes defensed. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle led to his arrest in January.
