Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated nine modern libraries with 'Chief Minister's Creative Centres' in Chennai, funded at a cost of Rs 16.87 crore to Rs 21.11 crore, and announced expanded financial support ahead of the state assembly elections.
The government extended the KMUT scheme to include elderly, widows, transgender individuals, and persons with disabilities, crediting Rs 2,000 and providing monthly pensions.
Additional aid includes Rs 8,000 per family for 162,900 fishing communities during the April–June ban and Rs 8.53 crore for 14,870 tea farmers in the Nilgiris at a base price of Rs 2 per kg.
The CM also inaugurated a Rs 249 crore Fintech Tower.
These actions are part of the DMK-led alliance’s campaign on the "Dravidian Model" platform amid a competitive electoral race.
