An Abuja High Court has adjourned the arraignment of property developer Cecil Osakwe, Victor Giwa, and Edith Erhunmuuse in a ₦300 million illegal eviction case to April 24, 2026, due to the third defendant’s absence and a fresh review ordered by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case involves allegations of unlawful entry and property damage at the residence of Asabe Waziri in Maitama, Abuja, under Sections 96, 97, 326, and 327 of the Penal Code Law.
Prosecution counsel cited the DPPF’s directive for a re-examination, while the complainant’s lawyer criticized repeated delays, claiming they violate the right to a timely trial and harm justice.
The victim’s personal documents remain in the defendants’ possession, and Giwa faces a separate forgery trial.
The court warned defendants against evading legal proceedings.
