A New York man charged with second-degree murder in his father's Feb. 25 strangulation death.
A 40-year-old man from Hermon, New York, has been charged with second-degree murder in the Feb. 25 death of his father, Philip Knickerbocker, 63, whose body was found in their Russell home.
Authorities say Philip died from asphyxia due to strangulation after a physical altercation, during which Hans Knickerbocker allegedly struck him and then strangled him.
The initial charge was later upgraded to murder after evidence emerged.
Hans was arrested, arraigned, and denied bail, remaining in custody at St. Lawrence County Jail as the investigation continues.
