A North Carolina native and Wilmington resident since 2025, Lasarsky brings 18 years of experience in marketing, communications, and large-scale event management, with degrees from NC State and UNCW.
She aims to expand the festival’s national profile, emphasizing community art, gardens, history, and culture through family-friendly events.
The 79th annual festival, running April 8–12, draws 250,000 visitors and contributes $50 million to the local economy, featuring a parade, concerts, garden tours, and the Queens Inauguration, with actress Elaine Hendrix as 2026 Queen Azalea.
The event is a finalist in USAToday’s 10Best poll, with voting ending March 2.
