A Melbourne airport worker was charged for making a Nazi gesture at Jewish schoolchildren, facing up to five years in prison.
Oscar Diaz Ysuiza, 23, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with making a Nazi gesture toward Jewish schoolchildren at Melbourne Airport on February 2.
Federal police said the incident occurred in a public terminal area and was likely to offend or intimidate.
Ysuiza, an airport employee with a security ID, was identified via CCTV and witness accounts, leading to his arrest at his home in Greenvale.
He faces one count of making a Nazi gesture in a public place under circumstances likely to cause offense, carrying a maximum five-year prison sentence.
Represented by legal aid, Ysuiza attended court without comment and left covering his face.
His next hearing is set for May 26.
