A man died in a fiery five-vehicle crash on U.S. 169 in Owasso on Feb. 2, with three others injured.

Christopher “Shane” Trotter, 44, of Nowata, died in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on southbound U.S. 169 in Owasso on February 2, authorities confirmed. The crash, near the 9700 block, involved five vehicles, including a semi-truck and a car that caught fire and slid into a ravine. Three other drivers were injured, one hospitalized. Police believe a prior non-injury collision caused a traffic backup that may have contributed to the crash. The road was closed for several hours, and the investigation is ongoing, with a report submitted to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the victim’s identity after examining severely damaged remains.
