Ghana has launched its first nationwide shared 5G network through Next Gen InfraCo (NGIC), a licensed wholesale infrastructure provider, with operations now active in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale.
Approved by the National Communications Authority, NGIC’s neutral-host network enables mobile operators to access shared 4G/5G infrastructure, promoting competition and reducing duplication.
The rollout supports Ghana’s goal of 70% 5G coverage by its 70th Independence Anniversary in 2027.
Nokia is the technology partner, providing a secure, scalable platform.
