A former Winona County bus driver has pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person in a position of authority, stemming from allegations of sexual abuse against a young woman in 2017.
The victim, who had known the man since childhood and was his student, said he exposed himself and engaged in sexual conduct with her multiple times during winter and spring of her senior year, both on the bus and outside her home.
She reported discussing sex and intercourse, though no act occurred.
The original third-degree charge was reduced as part of a plea agreement.
The case emerged after the Winona County Sheriff’s Office investigated a complaint and interviewed the victim.
The incident occurred during a time when the man held a position of trust and authority over the victim.
