Delhi Police conducted "Operation Aaghat 4.0" on March 1–2, 2026, a pre-Holi crackdown targeting bootleggers, drug dealers, and repeat offenders, resulting in nearly 4,000 arrests.
Over 975 individuals were placed in preventive custody and charged under various laws, including the NDPS Act, Arms Act, and Excise Act.
Authorities recovered 10 weapons, over 19,000 bottles of illicit liquor, 6.66 kg of ganja, 12.70 grams of MDMA, and seized 475 vehicles.
The operation also led to 60 bootlegging cases, 33 arms-related cases, and fines totaling Rs 11,500 under COTPA.
Police emphasized their ongoing efforts to ensure public safety during the festival.
