Comedian Paul Elliott, known as Paul Chuckle of the Chuckle Brothers, is cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End in a Marie Curie-branded bike to mark the 40th anniversary of the Great Daffodil Appeal, aiming to raise £40,000.
At 78, he’s doing the journey as a thank-you to the charity, which provided end-of-life care for his brother Barry, who died in 2018 from bone cancer.
Elliott, a Marie Curie ambassador since 2016, is highlighting the need for quality palliative care.
Marie Curie’s CEO Matthew Reed noted that someone dies every three minutes without adequate end-of-life support, praising Elliott’s effort and the ongoing role of donors and volunteers.
