A 31-year-old Bristol woman, Laura Liddle, is raising awareness about rare vulval cancer after being diagnosed in July 2025 following months of persistent pain, itching, and swelling that were initially misattributed to common conditions. Despite negative tests for thrush and STIs, a biopsy revealed pre-cancerous changes leading to surgery and later lymph node removal. Declared cancer-free in December 2025, she urges women to know their normal anatomy, monitor for symptoms like itching, lumps, or painful urination, and seek medical help early, especially given the condition’s link to HPV and its potential occurrence in younger women.
