Apple unveils MacBook Air with M5 chip, up to 4x faster AI, 512GB base storage, and 18-hour battery, starting at $1,099.

The MacBook Air with the M5 chip, which costs $1,099 for the 13-inch model and $1,299 for the 15-inch model, has double the base storage at 512GB, expandable to 4TB with faster SSD speeds, and up to four times faster AI performance than the M4. With a 28% increase in memory bandwidth, the M5 chip has a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a Neural Accelerator in each core. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and an 18-hour battery life are all supported. Pre-orders start on March 4 and the product will be available worldwide on March 11. It is available in sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.
