A UK NHS worker lost 70 pounds and improved his health after being motivated by holiday photos and his dog’s weight issues.
Stuart Scott, a 33-year-old NHS worker from Essex, lost nearly five stone—about 70 pounds—after seeing holiday photos that revealed his significant weight gain.
Motivated by the images and his dog Poppy’s vet diagnosis of being overweight, he overhauled his diet and adopted a daily 40-minute walking routine starting in September 2025.
He replaced processed foods, energy drinks, and large meals with healthier options like Weetabix, salads, and grilled fish.
His weight dropped from 18 stone 3 pounds to 13 stone 11 pounds, and Poppy lost 1kg, both now healthier and more energetic.
Stuart credits his dog as key to his success and plans to lose another stone and a half.
