Street artist S.C. Mero transformed a Los Angeles utility box into a tiny theater, sparking community performances.
Street artist S.C. Mero has turned a utility box in Los Angeles’ Arts District into a miniature theater with red velvet walls, gold details, and a gilded clock, inspired by the historic Los Angeles Theatre.
Opened with combination locks, the space invites performers like poets, musicians, and magicians to share their art, becoming a vibrant community hub.
Since its debut, around 30 artists, including local musician Jesse Easter and Uber driver Mike Cuevas, have performed, some for the first time.
The installation continues the neighborhood’s tradition of guerrilla art, following Mero’s previous works reimagining urban fixtures.
