Over 29,000 runners set a record at Fort Worth’s 48th Cowtown Marathon, with first-time winners in all major races.
Over 29,000 runners from the U.S. and nine countries participated in the 48th annual Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth, setting a registration record.
McKale Montgomery of Fort Worth made history as the first woman to win the ultra-marathon overall, finishing in 3:33:11, while Dustin Darakhshan of Richardson won the men’s race in 3:34:02.
Top finishers included Matt Campbell (2:37:22) and Sadie Smith (2:59:37) in the full marathon, and Sergio Men (1:07:02) and Jennifer Pope (1:19:42) in the half-marathon.
Saturday’s races featured winners in the 10K, 5K, and youth events.
Proceeds supported the C.A.L.F.
Program, which provided grants to over 5,400 children in 2026, serving more than 65,000 since 2009.
The 2027 event is set for February 26–28.
