Navitas Petroleum has secured a 65% working interest in the PL001 North Falklands Basin Licence, covering 1,126 square kilometers in about 500 meters of water, through a definitive farm-in agreement with JHI Associates Inc.
The licence, adjacent to Navitas’ Sea Lion Development project, holds estimated oil potential of 3.1 billion barrels across multiple prospects.
Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas Ltd., which owns a 6.6% stake in JHI, views the deal as strengthening its strategic partnership with Navitas and expanding shared offshore acreage in Guyana, Namibia, and South Africa.
The move supports Eco’s focus on low-carbon intensity exploration in stable, infrastructure-accessible markets.
