A 40-year-old Marion County woman died in a traffic crash on Sunday afternoon after being struck from behind at a stop sign intersection on NE 36th Avenue Road. She had stopped at the sign when the second vehicle, driven by someone in their 60s, failed to stop and hit her car, causing it to overturn and land in the middle of the road. She was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The second driver and a passenger, both in their 60s, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
