A 44-year-old man from Newhaven, East Sussex, was arrested after posting calls on social media to target Jewish businesses with stink bombs and hurl rotten fruit and eggs at synagogues, according to Sussex Police.
The post, made in an online group linked to the Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign, led to his arrest on suspicion of sending menacing messages, inciting religious hatred, threatening property damage, and drug possession.
No physical attacks have occurred.
Authorities are treating the incident as a potential hate crime, stressing that threats—even if not carried out—can result in legal action.
The man remains in custody as the investigation continues.
