Expected to open in August 2026, the facility will use advanced scanning technology to improve inspection accuracy, reduce smuggling and under-declaration, and boost revenue collection.
The public-private partnership, led by Medtech Scientific Dubai via MTS Inspection Services Ltd, involves Italian construction firm Family Pol Business and Dubai-based engineering oversight.
Officials say the upgrade will align Liberia’s port practices with international standards and support broader fiscal reforms under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
