Kerala has postponed its SSLC and Higher Secondary board exams in Gulf region centers due to escalating conflict in the Middle East, citing safety and travel concerns.
The exams, originally set for March 5–7, will be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced.
The decision follows a joint U.S.-Israel strike on Iran on February 28, which reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and triggered retaliatory strikes across the Gulf, disrupting air travel and damaging infrastructure.
The state urged affected students to apply through school authorities for accommodations, emphasizing student safety and academic fairness.
Exams in Kerala will proceed as planned.
