A Jerusalem court lifted travel and contact bans on Israel’s top military chief and UK ambassador appointee, citing war conditions and slow investigation progress.
A Jerusalem magistrate’s court has lifted the travel ban on Tzachi Braverman, Israel’s chief of staff and newly appointed ambassador to the UK, citing the ongoing war with Iran and a slowdown in the investigation.
Judge Menahem Mizrahi ruled the restrictions were disproportionate given Braverman’s diplomatic role and the lack of a clear timeline for key investigative steps.
The court also removed the ban on contact between Braverman and Prime Minister Netanyahu, though they cannot discuss the “midnight meeting” probe.
The case involves allegations of a late-night meeting at the Kirya military compound and a possible classified leak to Germany’s Bild newspaper.
Restrictions on contact with others involved remain until March 10, and police may appeal.
Braverman may now travel but must remain available for summonses.
