Italian tennis player Luciano Darderi won his fifth career ATP title and fourth in the past year by defeating unseeded German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 7-6 (6), 7-5 in the Chile Open final. The 24-year-old, ranked a career-high No. 21, improved to 16-2 on clay since last July, matching Carlos Alcaraz for the most tour-level clay titles since 2024. Despite fewer aces and more double faults, Darderi overcame a break point deficit and a tiebreaker setback to clinch victory on his first match point. Hanfmann, in his first ATP final since 2020, recorded twice as many winners but also twice as many unforced errors.
