India hosts Afghanistan for a Test and three ODIs from June 6–20, 2026, marking their first bilateral series since 2024 and Kohli/Rohit’s return in ODIs.
The BCCI announced that India will host Afghanistan for three ODIs and a single Test from June 6–20, 2026.
The ODIs in Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Chennai will begin at 1:30 PM IST after the Test, which will take place in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10.
This is Afghanistan's first Test match against India since 2018 and their first bilateral series against India since their 2024 T20I series.
After retiring from Tests and Twenty20 Internationals, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will make a comeback for the ODI series.
Jonathan Trott is replaced as head coach of Afghanistan by Richard Pybus.
The series comes after India defeated the West Indies to advance to the T20 World Cup semifinals.
