Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented a ₹2.23 lakh crore budget for 2026-27, a 10.28% increase from the previous year, with a focus on rural development and infrastructure.
Key initiatives include launching Haryana Agri DISCOM to provide uninterrupted power to 5,084 agricultural feeders and 7.12 lakh farmers, establishing a ₹500 crore 'Saksham' fund for industrial infrastructure, and creating a ₹100 crore Green Climate Resilience Fund.
The budget projects a fiscal deficit of ₹40,293 crore (2.65% of GDP), with 98% utilization of the prior year’s funds and a threefold reduction in losses from state undertakings.
Other measures include expanding organic farming support, launching HPV vaccinations for 314,000 girls, and upgrading Gram Sabha meetings to address six key issues, including water and drug abuse.
The World Bank approved ₹2,716 crore for the Haryana Clean Air Project.
