Franco-Nevada buys a 6% royalty on Banyan Gold’s Yukon project for $52.2 million.
Banyan Gold Corp. announced on March 1, 2026, that Franco-Nevada has agreed to buy a 6% Net Smelter Return royalty on the McQuesten and Aurex properties within the AurMac Project in Yukon, Canada, for $52.2 million.
The royalty covers 92.6 square kilometers, about 13% of the project’s 303-square-kilometer area, including the current mineral resource zone.
The project, located 40 kilometers from Mayo with highway access and existing infrastructure, holds a June 2025 resource estimate of 2.274 million indicated and 5.453 million inferred gold ounces.
The transaction involves PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., the receiver for Victoria Gold Corp. Banyan completed a 100% earn-in in July 2025 and holds the adjacent Hyland Gold Project.
Mineral resources are not reserves and are subject to economic and regulatory risks.
