Chas Corrigan, 22, of Cambridge, has been found guilty of murdering 20-year-old Saudi Arabian student Mohammed Algasim, who was fatally stabbed in the neck on August 1, 2025, near Cambridge Railway Station.
The attack occurred shortly after 23:30 BST as Algasim sat with friends outside student housing.
Corrigan admitted carrying a 13cm kitchen knife for protection but denied murder, claiming he only waved it to scare someone and did not realize Algasim was injured.
Prosecutors argued he attacked Algasim after drinking and using drugs, with CCTV showing him returning to the group during a confrontation.

Corrigan, who showed no emotion during the verdict, is set to be sentenced on March 4, 2026, and remains in custody.
