Sterling Metals found a large copper-molybdenum porphyry system 1.5 km from its Soo Copper Project discovery in Ontario, Canada.
Sterling Metals Corp. has discovered a felsic porphyry stock hosting copper and molybdenum mineralization about 1.5 kilometers from its MEPS Discovery at the Soo Copper Project in Ontario, Canada.
The initial drill hole, SC-26-01, intersected over 400 meters of altered porphyry with potassic alteration, veining, and copper sulfides including chalcopyrite and bornite, along with molybdenite.
Though assays are pending, the find supports a large porphyry copper system across a 7km by 3km surface corridor.
The porphyry’s composition and hydrous minerals suggest a metal-rich, wet magma source.
The company plans further drilling to test the system’s extent, with the project located near major infrastructure.
