Odisha police busted a major hashish oil ring, seizing 1,800 liters and arresting six, including a Kerala kingpin, in a cross-state trafficking network.
Odisha Police have formed a Special Investigation Team to probe a major hashish oil trafficking ring after a high-risk raid on a remote island in Koraput district, seizing 1,800.5 liters of hashish oil worth over ₹225 crore and 1,000 kg of ganja. The operation dismantled a temporary lab in a dense forest near the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border, equipped with generators, pressure cookers, and solvents. Six suspects, including alleged kingpin Allen Jayaraj from Kerala, were arrested within 30 hours, though some initially fled before being captured. The syndicate, linked to Kerala-based networks, used local facilitators for raw materials and terrain access. Authorities are now conducting forensic and financial investigations, with teams deploying to other states to trace the smuggling network.
