The New York Giants are planning to release veteran inside linebacker Bobby Okereke to save approximately $9 million against the 2026 salary cap, according to The Athletic.
Okereke, 30, played three seasons with the Giants, leading the team in tackles in 2023 and 2025 with 149 and 143 respectively.
In 2025, he started all 17 games, recording one sack, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery.
Over his seven-year NFL career with the Colts and Giants, he has accumulated 805 tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven interceptions, and 11 forced fumbles in 110 games with 95 starts.
The move is part of the team’s ongoing salary cap management strategy.
