ITV censored jokes about Mandelson and Palestine at the 2026 BRIT Awards, replacing them with white noise.
Comedian Jack Whitehall hosted the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester, but ITV edited out a joke about Lord Peter Mandelson and a comment by American band Geese regarding Palestine, replacing both with white noise.
Whitehall also referenced the unedited racial slur at the BAFTAs, joking about the same bleep operator handling both events.
The ceremony awarded Wolf Alice as British Group, Lola Young as British Breakthrough Act, and Sam Fender and Olivia Dean for Song of the Year with “Rein Me In.” The edits were part of ITV’s live broadcast decisions, though reasons were not disclosed.
