India to launch deferred customs duty program for manufacturers starting April 1, 2026.
India will launch a deferred customs duty payment scheme for eligible manufacturers starting April 1, 2026, allowing approved importers to clear goods without upfront duty payments, instead paying monthly.
The program, part of the 2026-27 budget, runs until March 31, 2028, and targets firms meeting compliance, financial, and turnover criteria, including existing AEO-T1 entities and MSMEs.
Applications open March 1, 2026, online via the AEO portal.
The initiative aims to improve cash flow, boost manufacturing, and encourage higher compliance and progression to advanced AEO tiers.
