A crash in Minnesota killed a 73-year-old Iowa woman and injured two others on Feb. 28, 2026.
A fatal two-vehicle crash near Rose Creek, Minnesota, on February 28, 2026, killed a 73-year-old woman from Waterloo, Iowa, and seriously injured two other occupants of her car, both men from Iowa, according to Mower County Sheriff’s Office and Olmsted County officials.
The collision occurred at 610th Avenue and 170th Street around 1:22 p.m., where a southbound car struck a northbound pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer, causing the car to catch fire.
The woman was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene.
The car’s 69-year-old driver and 26-year-old passenger sustained major injuries and were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.
The pickup driver, a 60-year-old Austin resident, had minor injuries.
Weather and road conditions were cited as contributing factors.
The investigation is ongoing.
