Bangladesh's home minister urged India to stop border killings and both nations pledged better security cooperation and visa resumption.
On March 1, 2026, Bangladesh’s Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed urged India to prevent further border killings during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma, calling for continued coordination between the Border Guard Bangladesh and India’s Border Security Force.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful resolution of border issues, improved security cooperation, and the gradual resumption of visa services, which had been limited due to past attacks on consulates.
They also discussed expanding training programs and addressing cybersecurity threats, including hacking attempts on India’s visa portal.
