A 15-year-old Arizona student was arrested for online racially motivated threats against a mosque and his school, leading to searches revealing weapons and extremist materials.
A 15-year-old Dobson High School student in Mesa was arrested on Feb. 19 after allegedly making racially motivated online threats targeting a mosque and his school, specifically mentioning Hispanic students.
The FBI had been monitoring his online activity since late January, leading to a tip to Mesa police on Feb. 18.
Authorities found tactical gear, a tomahawk, extremist materials, and replica firearms matching his posts during searches of two residences.
The teen was taken into custody at school without incident and booked into juvenile detention on terroristic threat and terrorism charges.
Police confirmed no ongoing threat to the school or community.
The investigation remains active.
