Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin will miss the rest of the 2025-26 NHL season and playoffs due to a torn ACL sustained in a December 2 game against the New York Rangers.
The injury, which required surgery, ends his season and triggers the team’s filing of paperwork to free up approximately $6 million in salary-cap space, bringing their available room to $9.85 million pending NHL and NHLPA approval.
Seguin, a 34-year-old veteran with 1,016 career games and a Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011, had recorded 17 points in 27 games this season after missing time last year due to hip surgery.
The Stars remain third in the Western Conference with 79 points through 58 games.
