Starting March 1, 2026, GCC-registered vehicles may stay in Saudi Arabia for no more than 90 days within any 365-day period, with the clock starting upon entry through any customs port.
The rule, approved by the Saudi Council of Ministers, applies to vehicles owned by Saudi citizens, expatriates, or authorized drivers but excludes rentals from licensed GCC companies.
Extensions may be requested from the Ministry of Interior before the limit is reached, though approval is discretionary.
Violations could result in penalties under Article 68, Paragraph 5 of the Traffic Law.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority will share vehicle data with the Ministry of Interior to enforce compliance, and drivers must register vehicle details at customs upon entry.
